I only saw bits and pieces of the various gundam series, there was endless waltz, and that thing with the "SHINING FINGERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!" and some other stuff, didn't make much sense, it's like "ok, you have a giant robot and you fight other giant robots, so freaking what?"
Well the problem would be that you only saw bits and pieces, none of it makes sense without the context.
Although G Gundam was pretty illogical.
